At the Helix
Kelpies Visitor Centre Cafe
The most convenient option — right next to The Kelpies. The cafe serves hot and cold food, including vegetarian and vegan options, with indoor and outdoor seating. Expect sandwiches, soups, baked potatoes, cakes, and hot drinks. The gift shop next door sells treats from local producers too.
Open daily during visitor centre hours (9:30am–5pm April–Oct, 9:30am–4pm Nov–Mar).
The Plaza Cafe
Located at the other end of Helix Park near the adventure playground and lagoon. A good option if you're spending time in the wider park with kids. Serves light meals, snacks, and drinks.
The Horsebox Cafe
A quirky food truck near the park serving ice cream from Falkirk-based Milk Barn, along with drinks and homemade snacks. A nice stop on a sunny day.
Picnic Option
The Helix has plenty of green space and benches. Bringing your own food is a perfectly good option, especially on a nice day. There are bins dotted around the park.
Near the Falkirk Wheel
If you're combining The Kelpies with a trip to the Falkirk Wheel (about 10 minutes' drive), there are food options there too:
- Falkirk Wheel Visitor Centre Cafe — Indoor seating with views of the Wheel in action. Coffee, sandwiches, soups, and homebaking.
- Wood-fired pizza oven — An outdoor food option at the Wheel serving freshly made pizza.
- Airstream food truck — Seasonal street food near the Wheel.
- Artisan ice cream — Available at the visitor centre.

If you're visiting Callendar House (about 10 minutes from the Helix), the tearoom there is worth a stop. Set inside the historic house, it serves light lunches, cakes, and afternoon tea in a lovely setting. Good value and popular with locals.
Dietary Requirements
Most cafes and restaurants in the Falkirk area cater for vegetarian diets. The Kelpies Visitor Centre Cafe explicitly offers vegetarian and vegan options. For specific dietary needs (coeliac, allergies), it's worth calling ahead to restaurants outside the Helix.
